Early Life
Kerry Washington was born in The Bronx, New York State on January 31, 1977. She would attend The Spence School in Manhattan, and then earn a degree in theater from George Washington University.
Acting Career
Her acting career would start modestly with small roles on Television. She would first gain national attention for her role in the film Save the Last Dance with Julia Stiles she would foloow that up with guest appearances on the hit television shows Law & Order and NYPD Blue. Her next feature film role would be in the Chris Rock and Anthony Hopkins star vehicle Bad Company. Her breakout role would come in the Jamie Fox Academy Award winning film Ray. Other notable films include Little Man, The Last King of Scotland and I Think I Love My Wife.
