Kermit the Frog

Kermit the Frog was created by Jim Henson and was the front man of The Muppet Show from 1976 to 1981. Kermit played the stage manager of the fictitious show along side the amorous Miss. Piggy, fumbling Fozzie Bear and other colorful characters in the slapstick puppet show. Kermit also made regular appearances on Sesame Street where his cheerful character was a delight to young children. He stared in the Muppet Movie' in 1979 and made numerous guest appearances on television shows including The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson and Hollywood Squares. He also appeared in television commercials for Ford and Pizza Hut.
