  • Kenny Wayne Shepherd is a blues guitarist and singer. Hailed as a child prodigy when he first broke into the music scene, he secured a major label deal when he was still a teenager. His first album, Ledbetter Heights, was released in 1995 (when Shepherd was only 18) and went gold. His follow up album, Trouble Is..., included his most popular mainstream song, "Blue On Black," and was nominated for a Grammy Award.

Shepherd managed to get an inordinate amount of radio airplay for a blues artist, which helped him build a solid fan base. In his 2004 release, The Place You're In, he transitioned into the role of lead singer for most of the songs, while on previous albums he had stuck mainly to guitar.
