Career
After graduating college, Kenny Mayne pursued a career in stand up comedy but did not manage to gain traction. In 1994, Mayne sent brief note requesting that he be hired accompanied by a few humorous check boxes to ESPN. The note worked and Mayne was hired to do Sports Anchor work on the newly launched ESPN2. When Keith Olbermann left SportsCenter, Mayne replaced him and eventually earned his own segment on Sunday NFL Countdown called The Mayne Event.
