    For the fourth straight year Chesney was named "Entertainer of the Year."

    The 2008 voting was done via an online poll allowing country music fans to vote for their pick for the award.

    Backstage Chesney directed his complaints to the country music industry about his opposition to the method of voting for the 2008 award saying: "The entertainer of the year trophy is supposed to represent heart and passion and an amazing amount of sacrifice, commitment and focus. "That's the way Garth won it four times, that's the way I won it, that's the way Strait won it, Reba , Alabama all those years. That's what it's supposed to represent."
