  • Kenneth Hughes was the victim of a murder-for-hire scheme after his daughter, Tammie Lafawne Lewis, and wife, Shirley Bilbrey Hughes, attempted to hire an undercover detective in the Dallas, Texas-area to murder him for $25,000. His daughter and wife allegedly conspired to collect his life and accident insurance settlement following his death. Both Tammi Lafawne Lewis, and wife, Shirley Bilbrey Hughes, are being held on $100,000 after being arrested and charged with solicitation to commit capital murder.
