Football Career
Darby played college football with the Alabama Crimson Tide, totaling 3,324 rushing yards and earning All-SEC honors in 2004 and 2005. After college, he was selected 246th overall in the 2007 NFL draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He made his NFL debut with the Buccaneers that year, playing a single game, catching two passes and recording 16 yards. Prior to the 2008 season, Darby was released by Tampa Bay. He then signed with the Atlanta Falcons and played with their practice squad until October 14, 2008, when he was picked up by the St. Louis Rams.
