  • Managerial Career

    Ken Macha retired from playing in 1985 and became a coach with the Montreal Expos. He coached for a number of major and minor league teams until being named manager of the Athletics in 2003. In his first year with Oakland, Macha led the A's to a division title, but lost to the Boston Red Sox in the playoffs.
