    During the Bank of America annual shareholders meeting held in Charlotte, North Carolina on April 29, 2009, CEO Lewis and 17 other company directors were reelected to the company's board by a "comfortable margin". Shareholders who had criticized Bank of America's takeover of Merrill Lynch had sought to oust Lewis and other directors from the board.     Attorney General Andrew Cuomo's office is reportedly investigating whether the Bank of America and Merrill Lynch violated laws by withholding information from investors. Cuomo said "Merrill Lynch's decision to secretly and prematurely award approximately $3.6 billion in bonuses, and Bank of America's apparent complicity in it, raise serious and disturbing questions."
