Ken Griffey, Jr. hit the 600th Home Run of his career on June 9, 2008. Griffey is only the sixth player in Major League history to reach the 600 home run plateau, joining Barry Bonds, Hank Aaron, Babe Ruth, Willie Mays, and Sammy Sosa.

Griffey's home run came off of Florida Marlins pitcher Mark Hendrickson, and traveled 413 feet into the right field stands at Dolphin Stadium. His home run comes just days after Boston Red Sox outfielder Manny Ramirez clubbed his 500th round-tripper. In 2007, three players reached the 500 home run plateau: Alex Rodriguez, Jim Thome and Frank Thomas. Griffey currently leads active players in home runs. Behind him is New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez. -
