  • On June 23, 2007, University of Wisconsin student Kelly Nolan, 22, went missing after a night spent out at bars surrounding the Madison, Wisconsin campus. Two weeks later, her body was found in a ditch in a wooded area outside the town of Dunn, Wisconsin, ten miles south of the city. As of early April 2008, her killer has not been found and there are few leads in the case. Nolan's case received renewed interest after the murder of another University of Wisconsin student, Brittany Sue Zimmermann, in her Madison home on April 2, 2008. The unsolved January 2008 stabbing death and home invasion of another Madison resident, Joel Marino, has also received attention as a result of the Zimmermann murder. Authorities have stated that there is still no reason to believe the three unsolved murders are connected.

The Nolan family has offered a $10,000 reward leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual or individuals who murdered their daughter. Other foundation rewards bring the total to more than $15,000.
