Kelly McGillis

Actress Kelly McGillis appeared in several popular and critically acclaimed film during the 1980s including Top Gun, The Accused and Witness.

In April 2009, McGillis confirmed that she is a lesbian during an interview with the gay website SheWired.com. McGillis said, "I think that was an ongoing process from the time I was probably 12. McGillis plays the role of District Attorney Kathryn Murphy, representing the Jodie Foster character in The Accused. She was originally offered the role of Sarah Tobias, but turned it down, thinking it would be too close to her own experience of being raped as a young woman by Leroy Johnson.

McGillis has been married and divorced twice. She has two children with her second husband, Fred Tillman. McGillis had part-ownership in a restaurant named "Kelly's" in Key West, Florida, though she no longer has a stake in it after her second divorce.
