Kellie Pickler was born in Albemarle, N.C. on June 28, 1986. From the age of two she was raised by her grandparents due to her mothers leaving and eventually being convicted for writing bad checks and prescription forgery. Her father was also reportedly in and out of jail. At the age of twelve her mother came back into Picklers life and gained custody for two years, when she reportedly relinquished it letting Kellie go back to her grandparents.

She has since gained fame as a participator on American Idol during its fifth season on Fox, she finished the show in sixth place. In 2006, BNA Records signed Kellie as a recording artist and released her debut album, Small Town Girl, later the same year. In 2008 Kellie recorded her second album Kellie Pickler with featured songs like ‘’ Don't You Know You're Beautiful’’ and ‘’Best Days of Your Life’’.

Kellie continues to make personal appearances to raise money for an assortment of charities including NFL Youth Education Towns Boys & Girls Club of New Orleans, which was damaged by hurricane Katrina. In August of 2009 she appeared on Extreme Makeover Home Edition and performed a free concert and also helped in the building of the new house.http://www.people.com/people/kellie_pickler
