A talented American country music singer and songwriter, Keith Whitley was just beginning his rise to super-stardom at the time of his death in 1989. His debut album A Hard Act to Follow, was released in 1984, but it was his third album, Don't Close Your Eyes, that would give him three number one hits on the country charts: "Don't Close Your Eyes", "When You Say Nothing at All" and "I'm No Stranger to the Rain." His fan base grew posthumously as other artists continued to cover his songs. Unearthed demos and early recordings have also been remastered and released following Whitley's death.
