    Keith Hector Jardine was born in Butte, Montana, on October 31, 1975. He made his mixed martial arts fighting debut on August 19, 2001, in a victory by submission over Amir Rahnavardi. He made his Ultimate Fighting Championship debut on November 5, 2005. In his first fight in UFC, Jardine defeated Kerry Schall by technical knock out with leg kicks. He continued to establish himself in the UFC scoring impressive victories over stars Forrest Griffin in 2006 and Chuck Liddell in 2007. He suffered a setback in a devastating knockout loss to Wanderlei Silva 36 seconds into the first round. On March 7, 2009, Jardine fought superstar Quinton Jackson at UFC 96.
