On May 8, 2009, meteorologist Mike Bettes introduced Katy Tur as the newest member of the Weather Channel's Vortex2 team. Tur's first report was on gadgets used to track tornadoes. Keith Olbermann defended rumors that said he helped get Tur the Weather Channel job because NBCU owns both MSNBC and the Weather Channel.
