Perry was slammed by anti-crime protesters for a controversial photo that surfaced in October 2008 depicting her holding a knife. The photo was taken for Perry's album, One of the Boys, several years ago by photographer Terry Richardson. The photo was not chosen for the album and was reportedly never meant for public viewing. Perry responded by stating that she is "against all violence." She also stated, "I was misrepresented because it was taken three or four years ago.
