• Idol Audition

  For her American Idol audition, Darrell sang her version of the Mariah Carey song "Vision of Love." Idol's newest judge, Kara DioGuardi, said, "Honestly, you don't have the chops to sing that song sweetie, you're a beautiful girl and that was a big song." Darrell piped back with "you're demonstration wasn't any better," causing the second female judge Paula Abdul to stand up and tell Darrell "that was not the right thing to say." Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell both voted yes for Darrell to go to Hollywood and Abdul welcomed her to the next round.
