In August of 2008, actress Katie Holmes updated the already short cropped hairstyle she had into an even shorter pixie style cut with long bangs and a tapered neck. Holmes originally cut her long hair in 2007 and began sporting a chin-length inverted bob with heavy bangs. On April 1, 2008, Holmes ditched the bob and was seen with a short, cropped hairstyle at Pizzeria Mozza in Los Angeles.

In August of 2008, Holmes updated her cropped-style by cutting it even shorter. The newest style is tapered in the back and features long wispy bangs. The shaggy cut is similar to Rihanna's hairstyle, which can be seen in Maroon 5's video for "If I Never See Your Face Again", only without the curls.
