Kathryn Romberg, a 45-year-old supervisor with the Division of Child Protection at the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services & a REALTOR with Falcon Living Real Estate in Chicago, was killed during an armed robbery attempt on August 13, 2008. She was sitting in an SUV with off-duty policeman Robert Soto when the shooting occurred. She was pronounced dead at the scene.Chicago Tribune: Bail denied in slayings (August 18, 2008)
