• Career

  Moenning began as model in New York City while studying at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. She began performing on stage but her first major role was in the television series Young Americans about a girl who enters a boys Academy by passing as a boy and ends up falling for the Dean's son. Due to Moennig's androgynous look she has found herself playing a number of lesbian and transgender characters including a pre-operative transsexual on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
