In 2006, 16 year old American Katherine Lester traveled to the Middle East in order to meet up with Jericho resident Abdullah Jinzawi, a friend of hers from MySpace. She was stopped en route in Amman, Jordan. On September 12, 2007, Lester, now 18, met up with Jinzawi in The West Bank.
