Katherine Helmond is an American television, film and stage actress.
After earning a Tony Award nomination for her Broadway performance in The Great God Brown, Helmond scored her breakthrough TV role as Jessica Tate on the sitcom Soap. During the show's run from 1977 to 1981, she was nominated for "Best Actress" Emmys for four consecutive years, but did not win.
Helmond's signature role is probably that of man-crazy Mona Robinson on the hit 1980s sitcom Who's the Boss? with Tony Danza and Judith Light. She was twice nominated for "Best Supporting Actress" Emmys, but again never won.
Following that, she starred in Coach and later another Emmy Award nominated role in Everybody Loves Raymond.
