Katharine McPhee is an American actress, singer and model. She was the runner-up on Season 5 of American Idol, losing out on the finale to Taylor Hicks. She has since released her debut solo album, Katharine McPhee.
In February 2009, People Magazine revealed that McPhee had been chosen to guest star on an upcoming episode of the CBS crime drama New York. Life After Idol
In addition to releasing her debut album since Idol she has also performed live with Andrea Bocelli, appeared on the cult Internet show Lonelygirl15 and on Ugly Betty, where she portrayed herself. She can also be seen in the upcoming studio movies A House Bunny and The Last Caller.On January 11, 2008, Billboard Magazine reported that RCA Records had dropped McPhee. Record execs later confirmed the story. Some reports indicate that she was dropped due to poor album sales. However, she's not letting the loss of her record deal hold her back. She plans to release her next one on her own.
