Kate Winslet is a British actress who first gained attention for her role in the critically acclaimed film Heavenly Creatures. Subsequently she starred in the enormously successful Oscar-winning romantic drama Titanic opposite Leonardo DiCaprio.

Winslet told Time magazine in February 2009 that after her nude scenes in The Reader she doesn't plan on taking another role that requires nudity. The 33-year-old British actress told Time, "I think I won't [get naked in a movie] again. She was formerly married to director Jim Threapleton; after their divorce she married director Sam Mendes in 2003. She has one daughter from her first marriage and a son from her current marriage with Mendes.
