Kate Spade is a fashion designer and namesake of her company Kate Spade New York. She specializes in women's handbags, but has begun carrying a line of accessories including tabletops, bedding and eye glasses. Kate Spade is married to Andy Spade and cousin to actor and comedian, David Spade.

Kate Spade began her career at Mademoiselle magazine in Manhattan in 1986. She worked in the accessories area, leaving in 1991. After leaving, Spade realized that the market did not have a wide variety of sensible, stylish handbags available and decided to create her own line.

Kate Spade handbags are a boxy design in bright or contemporary fabrics.
