Karl Marx

  • Karl Marx was a philosopher, economist, and revolutionary, who authored the book, The Communist Manifesto in 1848. Although not a prominent philosopher during his lifetime, Marx did establish a wide-spread influence among the workers immediately after his death.

  • The Communist Manifesto

    First published on February 21, 1848, The Communist Manifesto is a seminal work in communist theory. The manuscript was written primarily (and some say exclusively) by Marx and co-authored by Friedrich Engels. The manuscript outlines a plan-of-action for the workers to establish a classless society in which there is no private property. The central argument of the manuscript is a plea to the workers to unite and overthrow the capitalist social and economic structure.
