Karissa Shannon

Model and reality television star Karissa Shannon is a former girlfriend of Playboy mogul Hugh Hefner. Shannon appeared in Playboy Magazine in a special double issue with her twin sister, Kristina Shannon, as they became Miss July and Miss August 2009. The twins, along with Crystal Harris were also featured in the reality show The Girls Next Door.

On August 24, 2010, reports began circulating that Shannon appeared in an alleged sex tape with The Hills reality star Heidi Montag. Montag's estranged husband, Spencer Pratt, has reportedly contacted adult film company Vivid Entertainment to offer the tape for sale. Also in August 2010, Shannon made news regarding her tell-all book detailing life in the Playboy Mansion. The book, which was yet to be published at the time, reportedly targeted Kendra Wilkinson Baskett, who previously spent five years living in the mansion as a girlfriend of Hugh Hefner and as a star on The Girls Next Door. Born on October 2, 1989, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Karissa Shannon first appeared on television during a fifth-season episode of The Girls Next Door during a Playmate casting piece. At the time, Hugh Hefner's girlfriends Holly Madison, Bridget Marquart and Kendra Wilkinson were moving out of the Playboy mansion and Shannon, along with her twin sister Kristina, were asked to move in. Prior to their reality television career, Kristina and Karissa Shannon were arrested for aggravated assault. In January 2007, the twins were allegedly in a physical altercation with others at a St. Petersburg, Florida, party.
