NHL Career
Lehtonen was drafted second overall in the 2002 NHL draft by the Atlanta Thrashers. He made his NHL debut with the Thrashers in 2003, but spent most of his first two seasons with the Thrashers' American Hockey League affiliate, the Chicago Wolves. In 2005, Lehtonen earned a full roster spot with the Thrashers.
