Kari Byron

Kari Byron is an American artist specializing in sculpture, who works as part of the Build Team on the Discovery Channel reality show Mythbusters.

In February 2009, Byron announced that she was pregnant with her first child. She was subsequently featured on the blog Pregnancy360.com, addressing pregnancy myths, such as the idea that pregnant woman crave pickles and ice cream.Pregnancy360.com: Kari Byron: Pregnancy Myths (2009)

As a trained artist, Byron originally wanted to work for the special effects portion of the company and not the actual television show. Through persistence, she landed a gig as a buttocks model during the testing of the "vacuum plane toilet" myth on the second pilot episode of the first season. She has been a team member ever since.
