The Internet reports claim that producers of the reality singing competition had decided to return to a three-judge format, eliminating DioGuardi's role. On the same day that news of Dioguardi's firing broke, co-judge Ellen Degeneres announced she was resigning from her Idol job. Fired From American Idol
On July 29, 2010 [[[TMZ.com]] broke the news that Kara DioGuardi was fired from her job as the fourth American Idol judge. The news has not been confirmed by DioGuardi, her representatives, or any officials from American Idol, nor has the news been denied by any parties.
On the same day, official word came down that another Idol judge, Ellen Degeneres--who had replaced Paula Abdul as the third judge on the panel, is leaving the show. She announced she was quitting because the show was not a good fit for her.
Randy Jackson remains the only original Idol judge and will be the only carryover from season the ninth season. Engagement
DioGuardi and her boyfriend, Mike McCuddy, became engaged on December 8, 2008, during their vacation in Mexico. DioGuardi had this to say about her engagement, "I was in, of course, my thermal smiley-face pajamas that one of my best friends gave me for Christmas. He said, 'I have a question: Do you know where my shoes are?'" After answering that she didn't know where his shoes were, McCuddy asked, "All right, well then will you marry me?" Performance with Bikini Girl

Fighting an Eating Disorder
In late April of 2009, Kara DioGuardi admitted to having been a binge eater, she denied ever making herself throw up or starving herself.
