• Background

  Kanye West was born in Atlanta, Georgia. When he was 3-years-old, West moved to suburban Chicago with his mother after his parents divorced. West attended the American Academy of Art before dropping out to pursue a career in music. West began producing music for local acts which led to him producing tracks for artists signed to the Roc-a-Fella Records label.

  West released his debut album, The College Dropout in 2004. The album was well received and established West as a solo artist. He has since released two critically acclaimed albums, Late Registration, and Graduation. His fourth album, 808's & Heartbreak, will be released November 25, 2008.
