  • The University of Kansas football team plays college football in the North Division of the Big 12 Conference. The Jayhawks have appeared in 11 bowl games in school history, including a 24-21 victory in the 2007 Orange Bowl. The school plays their home games on campus at the University of Kansas Memorial Stadium in Lawrence. The program isn't as well-respected as their men's basketball program, but they are making in-roads as a competitive football program.

The Jayhawks accepted a bid to represent the Big 12 at the 2008 Insight Bowl and defeated the Minnesota Golden Gophers 42-21 on December 31, 2008, at Tempe, Arizona.ESPN: Reesing throws for four touchdowns as Kansas drops Minnesota
