Kansas City is the largest city in Missouri and occupies four counties. The Kansas City Metropolitan Area actually holds some territory in Kansas across the river. There are many attractions, accommodations, restaurants, nightlife and shopping opportunities with in the city. There is a large Irish heritage in Kansas City, making for many occasions to experience the tradition of Ireland's culture right here in the states.

Attractions
The architecture in Kansas City is an attraction in itself. One Kansas City Place is the tallest, used building in all of Missouri, while the Liberty Memorial is the nations memorial and museum for World War I. There are also many fountains, they claim that only Rome has more, that are spread throughout the city.If architecture isn't quite your thing, then take the family to the Kansas City Zoo, which is home to more the 1,200 "exotic" animals and is celebrating it's 100th anniversary in 2009. They also offer overnight expeditions for families and classes.
The Hallmark Visitors Center is also a great family-oriented attraction and activity. Kansas City is home to Hallmark's international headquarters and they allow visitors to tour the facilities, visit with some of the art technicians, as well as make yourself a souvenir. Admission is free, which is always a great thing!
Cuisine
Kansas City is famous for it's barbecue and steaks, two of America's favorite foods. The Kansas City visitors site recommends four "Can’t Miss BBQ Joints" with in the city: Arthur Bryant’s, Fiorella’s Jack Stack Barbecue, Gates Bar-B-Q and Oklahoma Joe’s. The website also has great recipes for making your own marinades and steak and barbecue sauces.It's not just steak and barbecue the city has to offer for a great dining experience; they also have many other cuisine types, including "Soul Food," Italian, Mexican, Chinese, French and so many more. Basically, if you are craving it, it's somewhere in the city.
