Kansas City Restaurants

  • Kansas City is the largest city in Missouri and occupies four counties. The Kansas City Metropolitan Area actually holds some territory in Kansas across the river. There are so many choices when looking for a place to dine in Kansas City. The foods of choice are definitely barbecue and steak joints though. Other then those popular selections, the city offers Italian, Mexican, French, Chinese and so much more. Many of the luxury hotels offer some fine dining choices as well.

The American Restaurant is not only well-rated by Zagat Survey, but has an exceptional review from Frommer's. It's been said that the "best regional fare" is served here, as well as the "city's most extensive wine lists." Most meals are set at a fixed-price, which can be quite high, but with the great food and "polished" service, it just may be worth the splurge. While dining, patrons can enjoy a view of Kansas City's skyline. In 2007, the chef was named the "Best Chef in the Midwest." Reservations are recommended.

If you're in the mood for some good 'ol Kansas City barbecue, give Arthur Bryant's Barbeque a try. They are one of the top four barbecue joints that the Kansas City visitors site recommends and they have been around, for what seems like forever. They have three locations throughout the city: the original location on Brooklyn Avenue, a second location at the Village West Parkway and the third location at the Ameristar Casino. The service is "self-serve" and the prices are low. Some claim that Arthur's is the most "famous" and "best" place to get barbecue in town.
