  • A jungle gym is a popular piece of playground equipment that children climb, sit, and swing on. Jungle gyms are constructed by connecting plastic pipes, metal rods, rigged ropes, or a combination thereof. They are often attached to swings and/or slides.
  • Safety

The ground under a jungle gym should be a soft or impact-resistant material to help reduce the risk of injuries if a child falls or jumps off the structure. The National Safety Council recommends there be at least 12 inches of this material to protect children. Schools and day care centers are required to meet this recommendation.
