Jumper is a sci-fi film about a teenage boy, played by Hayden Christensen, who stumbles upon teleportation. Throughout the movie the teen discovers that this new found skill is good for escaping his poor, abusive home, as well as hunting down the man he believes killed his mother. The movie is loosely based on the novel by Steven Gould.
Reception and Performance
Jumper received generally negative feedback from critics. It was labeled as a typical and erratic action movie with a poor story and weak special effects. It had a 16% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes shortly after its release.
Despite it's poor reviews, the film was a commercial success. It opened at #1 at the box office and had a steady run. The movie ended up taking in over $214 million worldwide.
