The Disappearance of Jimmy Hoffa
Jimmy Hoffa was the president of Teamsters union who was famous for his work – both legit and illegal. As president, he brought nearly all American truck drivers under a single national master freight labor agreement. Shortly after, he was convicted of attempted bribery and was sentenced to fifteen years in prison. After being released, Hoffa made plans to meet Anthony “Tony Jack” Giacalone and Anthony “Tony Pro” Provenzano for dinner at Machus Red Fox. “Tony Jack” was a reputed mob enforcer for the Detroit La Costa Nostra and “Tony Pro” was the New Jersey Teamster boss. Some believe that “Tony Jack” set the meeting so “Tony Pro” and Hoffa would settle their differences. When Jimmy was the only one to show up for the meeting, he called his wife to tell her that no one had come. This was the last time anyone heard from Jimmy Hoffa. In 1982, Hoffa was declared legally dead. The disappearance of Hoffa has become almost a legend as he was never found and the trail of his disappearance grew cold. http://www.paperlessarchives.com/hoffa.html
