Julie Kavner is an American actress and voice actress, best known for her role as the voice of Marge Simpson on the TV show The Simpsons. Kavner provides very few voices relative to the rest of the cast, voicing only Marge, her mother, and her chain-smoking sisters Patty and Selma. Only Yeardley Smith does less voices for the show (only 1). Before Kavner's recurring role on The Simpsons she could be seen as a cast member on The Tracey Ullman Show, the sketch comedy show one which the Simpsons made their first appearance.

Virtually all cast members of The Simpsons have done extensive work outside of the show, but Kavner's list of major motion pictures may be the longest of the entire cast. Many of her film roles were in movies by Woody Allen, most notably in his film Hannah and her Sisters. -
