Julia Allison

Julia Allison is an editor-at-large for Star Magazine and a columnist for Time Out New York. Allison has also been published in Cosmopolitan, The Huffington Post, and New York Magazine. Allison's columns commonly focus on sex and dating advice, however she also works part time as a political correspondent with CNN and MSNBC.

Originally from Wilmette, Illinois, Allison first began her writing career at Georgetown University, where she wrote for the school's newspaper, while studying for her political science degree.

While still in college, Allison worked as a correspondent for Mark Kirk, who was an Illinois Congressman at the time.

In 2002, Allison was allegedly dating Harold Ford Jr., an African American Congressman. This relationship was used against Ford when he ran for a seat on the U.S. Senate in 2006.
