Collins is known for her varied tastes and influences in her recordings (which has also included show-tunes, pop, and rock & roll). Collins' main influence was Bob Dylan. She recorded 14 albums between 1967 and 1990. Collins is now involved in social activism and is a UNICEF representative focusing on the abolition of landmines as well as a keen worker with charities assisting in suicide prevention.
