Judith Regan Lawsuit

Former HarperCollins publisher Judith Regan filed a $100 million lawsuit against News Corp. (owners of HarperCollins), alleging that, in 2004, a senior executive urged her to lie to federal prosecutors about a past affair with New York Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik. The two parties have reached an undisclosed settlement.

  1. Fired from HarperCollins in 2006, either for an anti-Semitic remark or fallout from the O.J. Simpson Book Controversy
  2. Kerik was, at the time, under consideration for the position of Homeland Security chief
  3. Subsequently, Kerik has been indicted for tax evasion, bribery, and conspiracy
  4. Regan suggested that News Corp. silenced her to protect the candidacy of Rudy Giuliani
