Judith Light is an American television actress, whose breakthrough role was of Karen Wolek on ABC's One Life to Live. Light's portrayal of the character, a housewife-turned-prostitute, earned her two Daytime Emmy Awards in 1980 and 1981.
From 1984 to 1992, Light starred in what is to date her signature role as Angela Bower in Who's the Boss?. Acting opposite Tony Danza in the hit sitcom, the show teased a romance between the two that was never fully realized on-screen.
When the series ended, Light appeared in Law & Order and other TV shows before being cast as Claire Meade in Ugly Betty. Claire is Alexis Meade's (Rebecca Romijn) alcoholic mother who was acquitted for murder in the 2007-2008 season.
