Juan Uribe

  • Juan Uribe is a shortstop for the Chicago White Sox. A native of the Dominican Republic, Uribe originally signed with the Colorado Rockies as an amateur free agent in 1997. After four years as a minor league prospect, Uribe made his major league on April 8, 2001. After three years in Colorado as a member of the Rockies, Uribe was traded to the White Sox for second baseman Aaron Miles. In 2005, Uribe was the everyday shortstop for the White Sox, and helped lead the team to the World Series.

    On defense, Uribe is a slick fielder with a strong throwing arm. Offensively, he boasts a quick bat.[1]
