Joy Philbin

Joy Philbin is the wife of television personality and talk show host Regis Philbin. She occasionally fills in as co-host on the morning show, Live! with Regis and Kelly and before that, on Live with Regis and Kathie Lee.

• When Joy and Regis Philbin moved from the upper Eastside into a luxury Westside building across the street from the ABC studios, she made her husband promise that he wouldn't come home for lunch. • Television personality and talk show host Regis Philbin started his broadcast career in San Diego as host of The Regis Philbin Show in 1964. In 1968, Philbin worked with Joey Bishop as his sidekick and announcer on The Joey Bishop Show. Philbin began working as a morning talk show host in 1975 as the co-host of A.M. Los Angeles, a local morning talk show on KABC-TV and stayed with that program until 1983. In 1984, Philbin and his family moved across the country for his new job as co-host along with Cindy Garvey in the New York-based The Morning Show. Kathie Lee Gifford replaced Garvey in 1985, the show became nationally syndicated in 1988 and renamed Live! With Regis & Kathie Lee. In 2000, Kathie Lee Gifford departed the morning talk show and was eventually replaced by Kelly Ripa.
