  Maran's professional modeling career started at the age of 17 when she was signed by the prestigious Elite Modeling Agency in Los Angeles. She has since become one of the most successful models in the industry with appearances in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, a spokesmodel for Maybelline and as the Guess girl. She has also expanded her portfolio to include acting with featured roles in the films Little Black Book starring Brittany Murphy and The Aviator directed by Martin Scorsese. In 2007, she was a participant on the reality television show Dancing with the Stars. She was the first person voted off the show for that season.
