March 13th, Joshua Clottey, former IBF Champion fought Manny Pacquiao, Filipino boxing star. Clottey, a 15-2 underdog in the highly publicized fight, said he intended to do everything possible to unseat the champion but was not successful as Pacquiao took the fight be decision.
Clottey and Pacquiao have more in common than just the boxing ring. The both came to their point of fame by way of a struggling childhood. Clottey was raised in the African country of Ghana. He had limited education as a child, making daily trips to the sea to catch fish to sell to help support his family. Joshua Clottey was expected to be a formidable opponent with some hard punches thrown in the Pacquiao fight. Pacquiao dominated the early rounds completely with Clottey getting his first real heavy punches in round 7.
Round 8 Clottey hits below the belt and is warned. Round 9, Pacman lands some heavy blows but Clottey is still standing as the round ends.
Round 10 Clottey gets a solid hit in but doesn't follow through.
Round 11 Clottey gets some hard hits in. Manny is dazed a bit but able to fight back and the round end with both standing
Round 12 Clottey lands a left and continues with punches. Pacquiao fires back but Clottey lands more punches. Clottey's round 12 has more punches than the others but the bell rings with no KO for either side. The match goes to the judges.

Countdown to Pacquiao
The last few weeks before the Pacquiao match included training, training, and more training for both Clottey and Pacquiao. Clottey trained without his regular trainer as no Visa resolution has been found. Additional videos from Clottey's previous fights have been added. In a recent Fan IQ News interview, Clottey contends he will deal with the Pacman's speed by using his power shots to bring him down.The match puts Pacquiao's World Boxing Organization Welterweight belt at stake. Controversy between Pacquiao and Mayweather over drug testing procedures prevented a Pacquiao-Mayweather fight. Clottey didn't take a strong stand in the matter but simply stated it would not be a fair match if Pacquiao were using steroids but he did not believe he was.
