Josh Wilson

Josh Wilson is a shortstop for the Pittsburgh Pirates baseball franchise. Wilson, a Pittsburgh native, was a member of the 1998 Pennsylvania state baseball championship team. Following his high school career, the Florida Marlins selected Wilson in the 3rd round of the 1999 amateur draft. He made his major league debut on September 7, 2005.

• June 2, 1999: Drafted in the 3rd round of the 1999 amateur draft by the Florida Marlins.

• January 6, 2006: Traded to the Colorado Rockies

• November 6, 2006: Signed with the Washington Nationals.

• May 10, 2007: Selected off waivers by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays

• December 3, 2007: Selected off waivers by the Pittsburgh Pirates

Wilson has a bit of power at the plate, is fleet around the bases, and possesses a high baseball IQ[1].

Prone to strike out, and has yet to show the ability to hit for average[1].
