  • Josh Rouse is an American singer-songwriter whose music includes influences of folk, alt. country, '60s and '70s pop and '80s alternative rock. Like The Smiths—one of his chief influences—his vocal and guitar styles are subtle, tuneful and melancholy. Rouse's critically acclaimed 2004 album Nashville was recorded during the breakdown of his marriage, but ironically contained some of his most upbeat songs. Until he toured as opening for John Mayer in the winter of 2007, Rouse's audience has mostly been limited to a small core of dedicated fans, as well as followers of the alt. country scene. Rouse also performs as part of the duo She's Spanish, I'm American, with his girlfriend, Paz Suay.
