Josh Howard, a basketball player for the NBA team Dallas Mavericks, was filmed on a cell phone camera while denigrating the United States national anthem during a charity sports event in July, 2008. The video was posted on YouTube and evoked many negative responses towards the athlete. Mark Cuban, the owner of the team, stated that they dealt with the incident internally and are planning to give Howard "communication-skill sessions."
